Reliable images, renames, and nested editing

  • Fixed a regression where renaming a newly created Project note to a single-word title could fail.
  • Changing a Project Markdown file's extension in the sidebar now asks for confirmation, with Keep .md as the default.
  • Image links now import direct images and all accessible photos from public X posts into local assets, with failures shown in the image block.
  • Nested image and list handles stay with the child block, and Backspace at the start of a filled leaf list item removes only that item's marker.

Images that stay local and portable

  • Add images to Markdown through Finder drag-and-drop, clipboard paste, or the /Image command in both Formatted and Source views.
  • Imported images remain ordinary files in your Project or Scratchpad assets folder, referenced with portable Markdown paths and never uploaded.
  • Move, reorder, replace, remove, and nest images like other blocks, with clear progress and recovery states when an import or image load fails.
  • Moving a Scratchpad into a Project carries its referenced images with it while safely retaining shared assets and moving proven-unused originals to Trash.
  • List indentation, dragging, and Backspace behavior now preserve nested content, marker types, numbering, and caret position more reliably.

Full-screen HTML previews

  • HTML previews can now open full screen — look for the new icon next to Preview/Source in an HTML file's toolbar.

GroveNote is now LocalEditor

  • GroveNote is now LocalEditor. There is already a note-taking app called GroveNotes — close enough in both name and purpose to cause real confusion — so the name had to change before launch.
  • Nothing else changes. Your license key, settings, projects, open tabs, and canvas files all carry over, with nothing to re-purchase and nothing to re-activate.
  • macOS updates apps in place, so the app in your Applications folder still shows the old name even though everything inside is LocalEditor. To tidy that up, install the new download and delete the old app — your license and settings are kept. Just don't choose "Deactivate this Mac" first, which clears your license.
  • The website has moved to localeditor.app. Old links redirect there.
